IE10 Doesn’t Work With Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

If you have found this post, most likely you are inquiring about trying to get IE10 to work with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0. Well, sorry to disappoint you, but currently Microsoft’s support for IE10 and CRM 4.0 is still saying TBD. You can see status of support for CRM 4.0 at Microsoft’s site here:

IE10 with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0

We are hoping Microsoft rolls out an update… Most companies will not want or can’t upgrade to CRM 2011 at the moment, as that alone is a huge undertaking. And with PC manufacturers now shipping systems and tablets only with Windows 8, this is becoming more of a problem.

Please post back if you find a fix and we will do the same.

Let’s just hope IE10 isn’t rolled out via Windows Update for Windows 7 and is left as an optional download.

“The only thing I have found that works is to turn off compatibility mode before going to the sign-in page and then turning compatibility mode back on as soon as you sign in. Ridiculous the steps necessary to make CRM online work with win8 and IE10…especially with price per month and on-premise Dynamics already having the update. Throw in the disaster with live authentication vs Microsoft account authentication and, as a firm, we are being forced to look at alternative CRM options.”

However, the above is no way a solution or good workaround for standard users, and so we are left waiting on Microsoft, hoping they don’t leave us CRM 4.0 administrators in the dust.

** Update – 01.20.13 **
Someone at Microsoft has now updated the KB article here: stating that IE10 is now compatible in compatibility mode only with CRM 4.0 Rollup 22. However, we can’t find any information anywhere on Rollup 22. Anyone have any additional information?

**Update – 02.26.13 **
We got official word back from Microsoft Engineer, see below:

I have contacted the development team in this regard.
I am informed that there won’t be an Update Rollup 22 for V4. The volume of bugs for that version have dried up, so at the moment so they are not planning any more updates for CRM 4.0.

CRM 4.0 is not supported on windows 8 and IE 10.
IE 10 is being considered for CRM 4.0; it would be a while before anything is released for the general public.
