How to Disable Fast Startup in Windows 10?

Fast Startup in Windows 10 is an interesting technology that allows you to start a computer much quicker after a previous shutdown. When you enable Fast Startup in Windows 10, the operating system uses hibernation technology to save the core and drivers into the hiberfil.sys file. Next time you fire up a PC, Windows restores its state from the hiberfil.sys file. Note that Fast Startup does not affect restart. Once you click “Restart” in the power menu, Windows performs full shutdown and power-on cycles.

Tip. Open Task Manager and go to the Performance tab. Check the Uptime parameter on the CPU tab. If your PC uses Fast Startup, you may spot quite a significant uptime even if you have just turned on your computer.
