Upgrading MMC client to Exchange 2010

Step 1

Uninstall Exchange 2007 from programs.  (uncheck Management Tools)

Step 2

Restart your computer.

Step 3

Install Exchange 2010, selecting only the Management Tools. Run setup.exe located in the Exchange 2010 installer ISO. Click next until it begins the installation.

Step 4

The install will error out and say to restart. After restarting run setup again.

Step 5

You will be asked if you want to use your previous settings. If you select yes you will get past the error.

Step 6

Open MMC and click “File>Add/Remove Snap-in…”

Step 7

Then go add the Snap-in to MMC for Exchange 2010 and remove the old Exchange 2007 Snap-in.
