If you are viewing this post it is probably because you are a little confused in the renewal process with your SSL cert on Go Daddy. And yes, it is a very confusing process. Follow the steps below to see what you need to do.
Go Daddy SSL Certificate
Go through the purchase of your renewal for the SSL Cert. This is pretty straightforward.
Then under the main part of your account, browse down to the SSL Certificates section and click on the green “Launch” button.
This is the part that doesn’t make much sense. They give you credits in which you use to finish the renewal for your SSL Cert. On the left hand side, click on the section that says “Credits.” Even though it might say (0) next it.
You should now see an option to update the credit list. Hit the “Update List” button.
You should now see a “request certificate” next to your domain name and SSL Cert. Click on that.
You are now on a page where you choose your SSL hosting options. In my example it is being hosted on a third party server. This is where you paste your CSR that you generate on your server.
When you are copying and paste make sure to also grab the —–BEGIN CERTIFICATE REQUEST—– and —–END CERTIFICATE REQUEST—– as part of the CSR.
Click Next twice and you should now be finished renewing your SSL cert. Step 3 and 4 are really the tricky parts which GodDaddy doesn’t explain very well.
