Firefox 4.0 – Go back multiple pages

So if you are like me you probably are used to the little drop down arrow next to the back and forward buttons to be able to navigation back multiple pages at a time. For me this is crucial, I use this feature everyday. Well in Firefox 4.0 I discovered that they removed this little arrow. But the feature is still there. All you have to do is right click on either of the buttons and you will get the drop down menu selection for past/forward pages.

Thanks very much. I was missing this feature a lot. Good to learn how it is done.

Thank you. I use it all the time. Far more useful than multiple search engines on the toolbar. I was so annoyed I downloaded Microsoft’s IE 9 Beta. They have dropped “go back multiple” from it too!!!

  • @George: Just so you know, IE9 now has the same feature as Firefox 4 for back/forward buttons πŸ™‚ Check out this post: http://theitbros.com/ie9-go-back-multiple-pages / Enjoy!

haha thanks for this, i saw so frustrated when i couldn’t go back many pages, the solution was so simple ugh :S

  • @Brian: Also, just as Gabe responded at the similar IE9-post: the click-and-hold-method works in Firefox as well!

  • (still, I have to say: even if the option itself is still there, I do miss the old arrows…)

Thank you, because I was surely wondering what had happened!

Precisely my comment has been said – I could not live without it either. Implementers need to remember that being able to find a feature is as important (arguably more so) than having it.

Thank you very much for that useful information. I was missing that feature a lot.

And thank you, mozilla corp, for hiding this useful feature! WHY?

    • Your welcome! That’s the first thing I noticed missing upon upgrading to Firefox 4 and it was driving me crazy πŸ™‚

Thanks a lot for the information, Brian. It was the first thing I noticed was missing after upgrading, too — well, that and the fact that I had to crank my neck to see the tabs at the top of the screen. Lol. Luckily, that can be adjusted and we can still go back multiple pages. Thanks again. – Jon
