Hello guys. In this article we will show you how to block USB port of your computer. A lot of you guys have seen blocking and restricting read and write access to USB ports on a computer by using Group Policy. But how can we do that if we don’t have Group Policy?
Well, you still can do it and you can use the Registry Editor. So, if you want to do that on Windows 10, Windows 8 or Windows 7, this is how you do it.
Block your USB Port
Click on the Start button here and type regedit.
Now click on the Registry Editor and you will see a new window.
In the left section you have to open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> Current Control Set -> Services -> USBSTOR.
Now look over to the right section, where you have to click on Start. Change the value data from 3 to 4 and click Ok.
After that, if you will try to plug in a USB flash drive in any ports on that computer, it will not load. But if you want to re-enable that again, you just have to change it back to 3.
That is how you can block or disable/enable USB ports of the computer. You are free to leave comments in the section below.
